For more than three thousand years the statue of Sekhmet, with the body of a woman and the head of a lioness is standing in her temple. Are you ready to meet her?
 Sekhmet, daughter of the sun god Ra, is one of the oldest known goddesses. The meaning of her name is 'The Powerful One'. She is the Lady of the Place of the Beginning of Time, the One who was before the Gods were, the Great Goddess of Magic, Healing and Protection. She is the first and highest creative force.
The initiation into the mysteries of the goddess Sekhmet is intended for women who want to explore working with the powers of this goddess and learn to work in a ritualistic setting in the temple.
The five Initiation days have the character of a mystery school intimately connected to the temple. Besides of performing the rituals in the temple, you'll learn how be in tune with Sekhmet, how to ritually purify yourself and the temple, the preparation of the ritual, the functions in the temple and how to perform these functions, opening and sealing of the temple, private morning and evening rituals, the application of the holy oils, sacred texts and hymns. And most important, how to integrate what you have learned of experiencing the ancient mysteries into your modern life.
What you should know:
- This is not a workshop or therapy but a unique opportunity to learn about and have a direct experience with Sekhmet and work in a ritualistic setting in an ancient temple in Egypt.
- We strongly advise you not to participate if you are or recently have been undergoing psychotherapeutic treatment.
- In order to work with Sekhmet's powers, you must be spiritually, mentally and emotionally balanced.
- Working with Sekhmet requires a high degree of responsibility and also a more than average degree of humility.
The Initiation into the Mysteries of Sekhmet is guided by Gerda van der Linden. For more than 20 years she is the inspirational force behind the Ancient Egypt Tours. After working for many years in the Egyptian tradition in a so called hidden Temple, she perpetuates this beautiful ritualistic work in Kemet's ancient temples.
