If you only do the TempleTour, day 6 is your first day. You will get meet and assist at Luxor airport and transportation to the hotel where we will meet eachother.
day 7 The temple city of Karnak with its sacred lake is built on a scale of giant gods. There is so much to see, that it will take us most of the morning. We will have a special meeting with a Goddess in her small temple. You can experience the powerful energy of thousands of years that is still present.
Karnak was connected by a processional way with the Temple of Luxor. The way was lined with ram-head sphinxes of which part is still intact. On the walls of the temple of Luxor, dedicated to the triad of Amun-Min, Mut and Khonsu, you can see some of the best preserved artwork in Egypt.
day 8 Early in the morning, when it is still relatively cool, we cross the Nile to the West Bank. Hidden deep in the sandstone hills we find the mortuary temples of the New Kingdom pharaos and queens.
We make a stop at the gigantic statues of Amenhotep III, the Colossie of Memnon that once graced the entrance to his immense temple. We visit the unique, modern looking temple of Queen Hatshepsut, which forms a magnificent contrast with the cliffs of the desert mountains. On either side of the middle entrance are temples for Hathor and Anubis.
day 9 Day-trip to Abydos to visit one of Egypt's most ancient temples, the temple of Seti I, dedicated to the God Osiris. A true temple of love and healing, which is reflected in the refined, colourful artwork. In this holy temple are several sanctuaries dedicated to different Gods. We also visit the nearby Osireion, which is even older and built with massive granite blocks. The God Osiris is supposed to be buried here.
On our way back we visit the temple at Dendera dedicated to Hathor, goddess of love, music, dance and sexuality. We find Nut the sky goddess and the Zodiac. In this temple is a mysterious hidden place. Maybe it will reveal some of its meaning to you.
day 10 Today we drive south along the Nile to Aswan. On our way we visit the temple of of the falconheaded God Horus at Edfu where every year several festivals and rituals took place: The sun's (Horus) victory; the festival of 10 harpoons; the ritual celebration of the 'Feast of the Beautiful Meeting' between the god Horus and his lover the goddess Hathor.
We also visit the spectacular double temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to Horus the elder and Sobek the crocodile-god.
day 11 Aswan has a layed-back atmosphere. A perfect place to relax and enjoy.
We visit an unfinished obelisk still laying in the rockbedding and the High Dam with lake Nasser. A boat will take us to the island of Philae where we find the beautiful harmonious female temple of the Goddess Isis.
In the afternoon we sail with a felucca (traditional sailingboat) on the Nile to the lushy and shady Botanical Garden and Elephantine Island to visit a Nubian village.
day 12 You can make a busride through the desert, leaving early in the morning, to the temples of Abu Simbel or if you have made early reservations, you can go there by plane. (The Abu Simbel trip is optional)
Or do some last shopping at the colourful Suq, a 3 kilometer traditional market. Reflect on all you've seen and experienced during the tour. Enjoy eachother's company, exchange addresses, you have been together many days and for sure you will have new friends.
day 13 We take the plane to Cairo and from there back home.
